Residential Weekend – Radical Compassion – Omega Institute – Rhinebeck, NY
July 31 @ 4:00 pm - August 2 @ 12:00 pm
The medicine most essential to healing and freedom is compassion—caring for ourselves and all beings. While compassion arises naturally, the flowering of full, mature compassion—Radical Compassion—requires training.
Join psychologist and meditation teacher Tara Brach to learn an applied meditation for cultivating mindfulness-based compassion known as RAIN (recognize-allow-investigate-nurture). Beginning with our inner life, we widen the circles of compassion through a sequence of short talks, guided meditations, and interpersonal meditations and reflections. We also make time for questions and sharing.
In a safe and respectful space, we practice bringing the RAIN meditation to places we feel emotionally stuck. We begin to discover how radical compassion can help reduce self-judgment and blame, release limiting fears and beliefs, and reconnect us with our natural wisdom, creativity, and kindness.
On a global level, radical compassion frees us from unconscious bias and the pain of separation, allowing us to serve the healing of our society and our living earth.
