A Conversation Between Tara and Kate Johnson: Radical Friendship

The often unseen cause of our difficulties in relationships is the societal structures that are marked by violence and domination.  This conversation looks at what blocks authentic and loving connectedness, and ways to intentionally cultivate authentic, openhearted awake relationships.

About Kate Johnson

Kate Johnson is a facilitator, writer, and graduate of Spirit Rock’s four year teacher training. She leads programs and retreats integrating meditation, somatics, social justice and creativity around the world and online, and works with individuals and organizations seeking greater sustainability through the cultivation of wise relationships.

She is the author of Radical Friendship: Seven Ways to Love Yourself and Find Your People in an Unjust World.

The Wednesday night meditation class is webcasted to Tara’s Facebook, and Tara’s YouTube starting at 7:30pm ET (New York time). They are pre-recorded to maximize broadcast quality and are available later each week here on, Tara’s Facebook, and Tara’s YouTube.

The class includes 1/2 hour of guided meditation followed by a 50-minute teaching talk. This offering is supported by your generosity. If you’d like to make a donation, please visit $10-15 is suggested to help us cover expenses. Any amount is gratefully received.

Mindful Dialogue Group

The group that has been meeting for years after my Wednesday night class have moved online. Over the past months, we’ve been joined by hundreds of people from all over the world. The goal of the discussion groups is to create a safe and intimate space for people to share what’s in their hearts without fear of judgment or contradiction.
